چکیده

A monolithically integrated micro-fluidic biosensor system-on-chip (μBio-SSoC) is first realized in standard CMOS processes. This μBio-SSoC is composed of a CMOS-based microfluidic pump, a polysilicon nanowire (SiNW) biosensor, and driving circuits. With 1.5V driving voltage, the microfluidic pump drives sample-liquids to biosensing area with 34 μm/s flowing velocity. After pumping, the detection limit of the integrated biosensor is verified at 320fM for cardiac troponin I (cTnI) protein. This μBio-SSoC successfully demonstrates the high-sensitivity CMOS-based biosensor equipped with microfluidic handling ability. This technique shows a potential of the various CMOS-based biosensors with microfluidic pump as biodiagnosis SoC for personalized healthcare systems.

Pre-Clinical Tests of an Integrated CMOS Biomolecular Sensor for Cardiac Diseases Diagnosis

Coronary artery disease and its related complications pose great threats to human health. In this work, we aim to clinically evaluate a CMOS field-effect biomolecular sensor for cardiac biomarkers, cardiac-specific troponin-I (cTnI), N-terminal prohormone brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP), and interleukin-6 (IL-6). The CMOS biosensor is implemented via a standard commercialized 0.35 μm CMOS...

Detection of Cardiac Biomarkers Using Single Polyaniline Nanowire-Based Conductometric Biosensors

The detection of myoglobin (Myo), cardiac troponin I (cTnI), creatine kinase-MB (CK-MB), and b-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) plays a vital role in diagnosing cardiovascular diseases. Here we present single site-specific polyaniline (PANI) nanowire biosensors that can detect cardiac biomarkers such as Myo, cTnI, CK-MB, and BNP with ultra-high sensitivity and good specificity. Using single PANI ...

A CMOS wireless biomolecular sensing system-on-chip based on polysilicon nanowire technology.

As developments of modern societies, an on-field and personalized diagnosis has become important for disease prevention and proper treatment. To address this need, in this work, a polysilicon nanowire (poly-Si NW) based biosensor system-on-chip (bio-SSoC) is designed and fabricated by a 0.35 μm 2-Poly-4-Metal (2P4M) complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) process provided by a commercial...

Highly sensitive rapid, reliable, and automatic cardiovascular disease diagnosis with nanoparticle fluorescence enhancer and mems.

Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) have been the leading threat to human life. An effective way for sensitive and accurate CVD diagnosis is to measure the biochemical markers released from the damaged myocardial cells in the bloodstream. Here, a multi-analyte, fluorophore mediated, fiber-optic immuno-biosensing system is being developed to simultaneously and rapidly quantify four clinically importa...
